Kyle Jones is a lifelong Surrey resident, Education Assistant and dedicated advocate for students, families and public education. Throughout his career, he has worked directly with students who require additional academic, behavioral and social-emotional supports, giving him firsthand insight into both the successes and the challenges facing today's classrooms.

Kyle currently works as an Education Assistant in School District 43 and previously served students in the Surrey School District as an Integration Education Support Worker (IESW). Every day, he sees the importance of ensuring students have the resources, relationships and supports they need to succeed.

Beyond the classroom, Kyle has built a strong record of leadership through the labour movement. He serves as a Shop Steward with CUPE Local 561, an Executive at Large with CUPE Metro, and sits on the Young Worker Committees for both CUPE BC and the BC Federation of Labour. He is proud to have earned the endorsements of CUPE 728 and the New Westminster & District Labour Council, reflecting the confidence that education workers have in his commitment to students and public education.

Kyle believes Surrey's Board of Education should be open, accountable and connected to the community it serves. He is committed to building respectful relationships with parents, students, education workers, Indigenous rights holders and community partners because better decisions are made when people are genuinely heard.

As Surrey continues to grow, Kyle believes the district must continue advocating for the schools, staffing and student supports our community needs. He will be a practical, approachable trustee who understands the realities facing classrooms and is committed to responsible financial stewardship, transparent governance and putting students at the center of every decision.
